About the Event
This event raises money to support those in need and to help generate awareness about those affected by Autism.
The event has around 600 entries each year with a range of particpants taking part. This includes individuals, schools, families, businesses, running groups. Children as young as 10 years old are welcome provided they are escorted at all times by an adult.
Our event is one of its kind in Tasmania. Incorporating both an individual 64km ultra-marathon event or a relay style event for teams comprising up to 10 people. The course starts at Dennes Point in the Northern end of the island and runs the length of the island finishing at Cape Bruny lighthouse in the South.
The runners all start at different times, with some of the solo runners starting as early as 4:30am and all runners aiming to finish by 2:30pm in the same day. Presentations are at the hotel Bruny at Alonnah at 3:15pm.
The event’s major sponsor is Crotty Legal/Dental, with support from Ultra Tasmania Inc, The Running Edge and the Tasmanian Road Runners.
